Veterinary Emergency Services

Unfortunately, emergencies happen and often occur at challenging times. At The Heights Veterinary Clinic, we are capable of handling a variety of emergency issues and will be available to help you in your time of need. Upon presentation, your pet will be triaged to determine how stable they are and if immediate treatment is needed. One of our doctors will discuss their physical exam findings and recommend appropriate and timely diagnostic tests and necessary treatments.

On occasion and depending on the severity of the medical problem, we may recommend a referral to one of the local specialty/emergency hospitals, either Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners, Veterinary Emergency Group, or Fetch.

Symptoms to Look For

If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms, please call our office right away for guidance:

• Labored breathing or shortness of breath
• Retching/vomiting or severe diarrhea
• Straining or inability to urinate
• Seizure- like activity
• Unresponsiveness
• Bleeding from mouth or nose, coughing up blood, or blood in urine.
• Injuries to the eyes
• Known toxin exposures
• Obvious signs of pain or extreme anxiety
• Signs of heat related stress or heat stroke
• Any other symptoms that warrant immediate attention
